Copernic 2.0 Pre-Release Released

One of my favorite utilities, Copernic, has a 2.0 pre-release version available for download. It appears to be a major update. Improvements include a better interface and consumes fewer resources.

The setup wants to install toolbars for Firefox and IE. They are vanilla, so I don't recommend installing them.

If have not heard of Copernic, it is a desktop search tool. It will index files on your hard drive. By indexing, you can rapidly find files based on file name or file contents. There are others out there with a similar tool, like Google, but I find Copernic to be the best of the bunch.

A Moment of Silence for these Mazdas

A cargo ship carrying Mazdas has tilted. The crew is ok, but some Mazda 3's and CX-7's are casualties. :-(

Effective Ways to Self-Torture

This can be painful to watch. David Hasselhoff should get out of the music business. Please spare us David! Enjoy these quality videos:

New Atari 2600 Game Released

It's been a long time. I've held onto my 2600 waiting for this day. Ok, maybe that's not true. A-VCS-tec Challenge is a new game for the Atari 2600. Yes, that's true. It looks like what you can expect from a 2600. Be sure to check out the video. The soundtrack is the best part.

More Government Hypocrisy

A U.S. district judge has ruled that sanitizing movies is illegal. Let me get this straight. The FCC can mandate movies be cleaned up before airing on broadcast television, but if I request a cleaned up version of a movie, that's illegal. This cry of artistic integrity by the Director's Guild is a load of _cleaned up_. If it's so important to them, why do they have no problems with the edited versions shown on TV? Oh yea, money trumps artistic integrity.

Fray Tormenta: The real Nacho Libre

If you haven't seen Jack Black in Nacho Libre, might I suggest you do? It is very funny.

You may not have known it was based on a real story. Here is the story of the real Nacho Libre.

Pass the Sun Tan Lotion

I have never believed the global warming alarmists. I am not saying it's not possible for earth to warm. I am saying normal human activity has little impact on the temperature. Given the galactic forces out there, it matters even less.

John Stossel has written a great article addressing the chief lobbyist of global warming, Al Gore. A Convenient Lie.

One of my favorite lines...
The Washington Post reported that because of melting ice caps and glaciers, "The End Is Near!" But melting Arctic ice won't raise sea levels any more than the melting ice in your drink makes your glass overflow.

It sounds like something from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
A man who no more knows his destiny than a tea leaf knows the history of the East India company.
