Where are the clowns?

Chrysler is going to introduce this to the American market. Baaaaa haaahhh! Maybe Ford SHOULD reintroduce the Fiesta if this is what people are going for. I've seen cars like this before... at the circus!

Cool Online Visio-like tool.

Gliffy.com - Create and share diagrams online. I haven't exercised it yet, but it does look cool. Entirely browser based.

Get your blu-ray DVD player today!

Just how much is Samsung's new player going to cost you? Why only $1,000! What a bargain! ;-)

I think I would rather just build a nice HTPC and hook it up to HDTV at this point. It can do 1080p without breaking a sweat. Costs less too.

We'll see more realistic prices as Christmas 2006 nears.

LCD is king? Long live the king!

According to John Dvorak's latest article, LCDs rule the display market. This may very well be true given the versatility of the technology to be sold between home theater and the PC market. (Seen any DLP PC displays lately?) The line between HT and PC displays is blurring more and more. Sometimes I wonder if the retailers will drop the separate PC and HT display areas and create one new department called "Displays".

The advantage of at least one format dominating is to make it easier for consumers to decide which screen they want. Right now, it's a smorgasbord of technologies: LCD, DLP, OLED, Plasma, and maybe SED. Each has its strength and weaknesses, and your decision hinges knowing what they are in order to choose the best technology for you. AND THEN, after studying all of those formats, you have to research the strengths and weaknesses of TVs in the selected format. Whew! All this to watch re-runs the <sarcasm> hilarious comedy Dharma and Greg </sarcasm> in high definition.

In other cat news...

Cats to compete in reality TV show in New York.
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Ten cats in search of owners will spend the next 10 days in a New York store window, their every move caught on camera for a reality TV show on which they will compete for best sleeper and mouse-catcher.

Any more need to be said?

Earn more money by keeping your money.

I follow three big slick deal web sites in addition to a hot deals forum. It doesn't take long to browse through what's on the wire and might result in saving some cash. This web log entry by the operator of DealMeIn.net states the value of finding the slick deal very well.

Frugality isn't about saving money just for the sake of saving. It's about spending a little bit of time researching in exchange for an increase in the quality of your life.
Source.

How does it increase quality life? Simple. By increasing the buying power of your dollars. These sites are fed by bargain hunters who find the right deal be it through a combination of coupons or not. They are well worth following.

I've been waiting to purchase HDTV. The offerings have been either more than I care to pay or less than stellar in features. This past weekend, Best Buy had an online sale on a TV I had been looking at the week prior, a 42" Westinghouse 1080p LCD monitor. At the time, it was selling for $2,000, $500 off MSRP. This past Saturday, it went on sale for $1,500 with free shipping! The extended warranty was also less because the sale price put the monitor in a lower tier on the warranty pricing scale. The bargain hunters saved me $500+!

In another story, I had been waiting to find a cellular plan than better fits my needs. For a while, the cell phone companies were aggressive in their offerings. To me, it seemed to slow. They started simply tacking on more minutes while not lowering prices. That doesn't help me. I already had plenty of minutes. Lower my monthly obligations. In the Anand Tech Hot Deals forum, I discovered the Sprint SERO plan, an employee referral program which offers a great cell plan. For two people, it lowered my cell phone bill $26/month!

Cheers to the bargain hunters!

Hypoallergenic cats have arrived.

Pretty cool cool patent to own, hypoallergenic cats. Not cheap at $4,000 a cat. But if you really want a cat... They are easy to maintain. Enjoy this picture of our cats, Okra and Seabass, when they were kittens. :-)

Hydrogen cars close than we think?

If Honda has its way, we'll see hydrogen cars on market in 2 to 3 years, not 10.
